What if a tradition of annual family portraits could bring us more than just the cute smiling faces looking into the camera? A lot more.
What if it could serve a dual mission – bring joy to our loved ones as they open an envelope and take out a freshly printed holiday card and also preserve some priceless childhood memories for our kids?
Family Storytelling is just about that! It’s a 2 hours family session with about 20 minutes devoted to more posed/directed portraits and then the rest is documentary based on your regular routine or activities we plan ahead of time. It’s a fun experience for the entire family where you can just enjoy the moment and be yourselves while I take pictures, not another item on your to do list during the busiest time of the year.
I can hardly think of a better example for this type of session than the one I did for Freeman family back in June. Home, Central Park, favorite bakery and the streets of their beloved Upper West Side neighborhood – we managed to incorporate all of that during our 2 hours session.

I actually have a favorite image for each kiddo 🙂

For Sam, I love the one of the two of us on our tiptoes looking into the refrigerator. It’s an angle I never would have taken myself, and, even without showing his face, it captures his little personality at this stage of his life–curious and into everything! I also love how it shows off his amazing baby thighs 🙂

 

For Abby, I love the one of her peeking out of the stroller with Adam’s arm lifting up the grey cover. It is such an “Abby face” and shows her sweet and playful side that I love so much.

It’s hard to choose, because this session captured so many precious family moments! Thank you again!

Taking pictures is only the first step when coming to preserving memories. Having them printed and displayed in a beautiful book that Abby and Sam will enjoy for many years to come is what makes my job complete!
