New York Documentary Family Photographer {Becoming your trusted visual biographer}

April 12, 2018  •  7 Comments

In 2017 I made some changes to my photography business. I gave myself permission to concentrate on what I'm truly passionate about: documentary family photography. And this brings me to the door steps of incredible families. Those who recognize the beautiful and fleeting moments of life. Quiet times of connection; unexpected, hilarious times with those they love the most.

While delivering intimate and meaningful storytelling images, I became clear about my desire to go one step further and become not just a photographer for my clients, but to become their family's trusted visual biographer. Having an annual documentary session allows for a timeless record of both childhood and parenthood in your family, with one new chapter added each year.

It's this time of the year again: we finally feel the presence of Spring! May and June as well as September and October are always the busiest months of the year. I am often getting fully booked during these months. However this year I decided to only book five two hour Family Storytelling sessions a month and three Day In The Life sessions. Providing the utmost service to those who trust me to record their precious memories is my #1 priority!

Whether your 2018 session is going to be an added chapter of the record we've already started to work on together or it's the first one of many - I encourage you to schedule it soon to make sure the dates you have in mind are available.

In this post I'd like to share my current favorite images - the ones I chose to represent my photography in my home page slideshow.

Enjoy!

So many photographers and photo sessions focus on just the kids, I love how documentary family photography makes the parents' experience an important part of it all, too.

Polina, every single image you shared in this post makes me FEEL something...a BIG something! I love the authenticity and the energy in each image. And this sentence: "While delivering intimate and meaningful storytelling images, I became clear about my desire to go one step further and become not just a photographer for my clients, but to become their family's trusted visual biographer." - this is brilliant! I wish you all the successes in the world!!

These images are so awesome. I love how you described your role as a family photographer and set the expectation for yearly family stories being made. As a mother, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
